Dar Al Ber gives AED 2 million worth of life-saving medicines to indigent patients

Dar Al Ber Society has provided life-saving medicines worth AED 2 million to 45 low-income patients of different countries suffering cancer and hepatitis.

The kind gesture, according to Abdullah Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi, Executive Director of Dar Al Ber, is the second phase of their local charity campaign launched earlier under the theme ‘Thanks Zayed for treating chronic diseases’.

"Critical, life-saving and costly medicines, worth AED 2 million, have been provided to the eligible indigent patients; AED1 million to those suffering cancer and AED1 million to hepatitis ones."

The pioneering drive, meant to ease the suffering of patients with chronic diseases, is to continue with the help of philanthropists here, as well as public and private entities, he added.

Mohammed Suhail Al Muhairi, Head of Community Service Sector at Dar Al Ber, said that 45 patients benefited from the medicines contributed. "These included 25 hepatitis patients and 25 suffering carcinogenic tumors."

Hisham Ahmad Al Zahrani, Deputy Head of Community Service Sector, said the project is aimed to secure these expensive medicines to vulnerable patients. "We wish to promote the values of solidarity and compassion all over the society."
