Child crushed under garbage truck in Dubai

An eight-year-old Emirati child was crushed to death under a garbage truck on Monday morning, a Dubai police official told Gulf News Tuesday. The child, identified as H.A.A., was standing outside his house in Al Mizher 2 at 8 am, accompanied by a housemaid, the mishapa happened, the official said. The he truck was reversed in front of his house. “The driver reversed in the wrong direction and crushed the child to death.” The child suffered serious head and body injuries and was bleeding severely. Residents who witnessed the accident informed the police operations room. The child was pronounced dead when police patrol and ambulance reached the scene of the incident. The housemaid and the truck driver were sent to police custody for further investigations, the official said.
