Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa today chaired the meeting of the Civil Defence Council. The session was attended by the ministers of municipalities and urban planning, electricity and water affairs, labour, works, health and information affairs. The public security chief, the supreme council for the environment director-general, the general-organisation for youth and sport chief and the civil defence rapporteur were also present. Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa stressed the importance of the, affirming the Government's efforts to ensure citizens and residents' protection. The Minister of State for Electricity and Water Affairs updated the panel efforts to rationalize water consumption. Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid stressed the need to preserve the strategic water reserves. He underscored the importance of drawing a contingency emergency plan to deal with radiations in cooperation with concerned parties. He stressed the support for the establishment of a nation centre for prevention from radiations.
