Cairo - Arab Today

The National Salvation Front (NSF), Rebel Campaign and Egyptian Popular Current have called on opponents of ousted president Mohamed Morsi to protest in Tahrir Square and at the presidential palace on Monday and Friday “to protect the achievements of the revolution.” The NSF, the main opposition umbrella group during Morsi’s presidency, called for people to gather on both Monday and Friday to break the Ramadan fast and show support for the demands of the 25 January and 30 June revolutions, and for the current transitional roadmap. Meanwhile, supporters of ousted president Mohamed Morsi have been protesting daily to demand his reinstatement. A pro-Morsi sit-in has been ongoing since 28 June at the Rabaa Al-Adawiya Mosque in Nasr City. On 3 June, army chief Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi removed Morsi from his post as president after millions took to the streets demanding early presidential elections. Head of the High Constitutional Court (HCC) Adly Mansour has been made interim president until elections are held. Mansour issued a constitutional declaration setting out a new roadmap.
