The General Directorate of Anti-corruption and Economic and Electronic Security and the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibition Authority held a workshop on promoting integrity and anti-corruption. The workshop was part of the national Anti-corruption Campaign (Nazaha 2017) to promote integrity and transparency, in addition, to limit corruption cases.
Lieutenant Al-Anoud Samir Alzayani, an officer working with the directorate, stressed the imperative of enhancing awareness to combat corruption, in line with the national strategy which was endorsed by the Minister of Interior on the 9th of December 2013 on the sidelines of the International Anti-corruption Day.
Legal specialist at the directorate Abdulla Rashid Al-Tahmazi addressed the workshop, explain the concept of corruption, as well as causes and negative impact on societies. He underlined Bahrain’s mechanisms to prevent and combat graft, on the legislative, procedural and institutional levels.
Bahrain Tourism and Exhibition Authority (BTEA) human and financial resources director Jalal Hussein Ismael distributed certificates to the participants.
