Annual government meetings sow seeds for bright future
Abu Dhabi - Arab Today

Crown Princes expressed on Tuesday their confidence that the two-day annual meetings for the UAE government would launch strategies and programmes of action in vital sectors designed to advance the country’s development towards UAE Centennial 2071.

They said they were satisfied with the constructive discussions taking place in the largest governmental gathering of its kind in the UAE, which introduced over 120 federal and local government initiatives in 30 sectors in response to national goals and challenges.

The annual meetings for the UAE government were held in Abu Dhabi today, chaired by UAE Prime Minister and Vice President and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, said:'' Our national government approaches focus on setting a developmental vision for the next five decades and seizing the opportunity offered by these meetings to review and evaluate our plans so as to produce the best.'' ''Success is our final target, but to reach it we need will, determination and motivation as well as integrative work between federal government, local governments and community institutions. The lesson here is not on what objectives and achievements we have accomplished, but on how to build on them and add to them and what legacy we will leave for the generations to come?'' H.H. added.

He conveyed the best wishes of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan for success.

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, said:'' The work we have seen during these meetings confirms the ability of national human resources to reshape the UAE of tomorrow. '' ''Emirati cadres are serious to build an integrated mechanism of work and empowerment that will put the UAE on the orbit of achievement, innovation and leadership,'' H.H. stated.

H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, said the ambitious agenda of the meetings had brought the federal and local governments teams together under a common strategy to enable the UAE join the club of most advanced nations.

'' Strategies and initiatives produced by the meetings will underscore the government's commitment to reach these goals,'' he added.

H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, noted that the convening of these meetings - in response to the initiative of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the care of other leaders - serves a clear message that '' our prudent leadership is working side by side as one team'' to realise aspirations of the people and position the UAE among the most advanced nations under the leadership of an open-mind, able and harmonious government.

''The meetings will further increase joint cooperation and work between federal and local governments to implement development plans and strategic approaches as well as to address challenges ahead,'' H.H. stated.

H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, hoped the meetings would come out with new strategic plans for inclusive development that open up prospects for progress and excellence.

''The annual meetings will mark a fresh departure towards a new chapter of the nation building and development. The UAE will forge ahead with the determination of its loyal citizens,'' he affirmed.

He indicated that the meetings would produce an integrated vision for the energy sector so as to maintain the country's regional and global leading position.

H.H. Sheikh Rashid bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mu'alla, Crown Prince of Umm Al Qaiwain, said,'' The UAE is proceeding ahead under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and support of Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to make a promising future to its people.'' ''We are proud that participants in these meetings are seriously discussing challenges facing our state and are sparing no effort to draw plans that will make our nation second to none globally,'' he added.

''We will all envisage the future features of our nation guided by the spirt, legacy and vision of the founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan,'' he concluded.

H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras al-Khaimah, underlined the importance of federal and local coordination to accelerate the pace of economic, social, educational, health and military development in order to advance the nation and bring about happiness to its citizens.

''The annual meetings provide a fitting opportunity and platform to tackle national issues of interest at executive levels so as to deliver the UAE Vision 2021,'' he added.
