AMAF inaugurates new residential and commercial endowment project
Dubai - Arab Today

The Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation, AMAF, has inaugurated a new residential and commercial endowment development in the Al Bada’a area of Dubai, funded by Ahmed Ali Al Abdulla.

The project’s revenues will benefit the orphans in AMAF’s care, including those residing in the Family Village, the region’s first community orphanage that provides more than 30 children with shelter, education, and support in a stable family environment.

Tayeb Al-Rais, Secretary-General of AMAF, Ahmed Bu Shihab, Director of AMAF’s Endowment Development Department and Ahmed Ali Al Abdulla attended the ceremony, along with other officials from AMAF.

Built at an estimated overall cost of AED16.5 million, the new project features three G+2-storey residential buildings including retail space, spanning a total floor area of 39,376 square feet and expected to generate annual revenues of AED2.8 million. Two of the buildings comprise 14 one-bedroom apartments and two retail stores each, while the third building features four two-bedroom apartments and two retail stores.

Al-Rais said, "The response from national companies and institutions to our initiatives reflects their deep commitment to social responsibility and their keen interest in boosting the UAE’s status as a leader in humanitarian and charity work. Ahmed Ali Al Abdulla’s project is a model of sustainable and socially impactful endowment. We hope his example will encourage more philanthropists to cooperate with AMAF in endorsing Islamic and humane values in our society."

Ahmed Ali Al Abdulla commented, "Collaboration between public and private sector institutions is essential to drive and sustain the charity efforts supported by our wise leadership towards ensuring social solidarity across the nation. This project is a humble contribution to these efforts. The Family Village plays a crucial role in caring for orphans and embodies the spirit of goodness and generosity that the UAE is well known for."
