The Abu Dhabi Convention Bureau, part of the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi, DCT, has officially launched its latest initiative ‘Al Nukhba’, which aims to boost the number of international conferences held in the UAE capital.
The initiative was officially inaugurated in a special ceremony on Nurai Island, Abu Dhabi, on Tuesday, by Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of DCT.
The programme for the first time officially gathers like-minded, highly motivated experts in various fields within the emirate, to coordinate efforts to secure convention business for Abu Dhabi.
The team of experts, acting as representatives of the emirate, are working with local professionals to advocate for Abu Dhabi on potential inbound international conventions.
"In line with the department’s mandate of growing the business tourism sector in Abu Dhabi, investing time and effort in MICE-boosting initiatives such as the Al Nukhba programme, will help us towards our target of attracting three million visitors by 2021," said Saif Saeed Ghobash, DCT Director-General.
