Kuwait's Minister of Social Affairs and Labor and Minister of State for Development and Planning Affairs Hind Al-Sabeeh stressed Monday Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries are keen to achieve mutual cooperation in various fields, including social welfare, where they have "great asset of experience." Minister Al-Sabeeh told KUNA after visiting elderly care centers, accompanied by Bahraini Minister of Social Development Faeqa Al-Saleh, that the GCC countries are keen on mutual cooperation and transfer of experience among them in this sector.
"This visit to the facilities aims to examine the Bahraini experience in this area in order to achieve mutual benefits," she added.
Al-Sabeeh explained that the Bahraini experience is marked by partnerships between government, civil society and the private sector in the management of these centers.
She expressed her admiration for the services provided at these centers, available in different regions of the Kingdom, in addition to providing various health care and comfort for the elderly, as well as giving a role for retirees to contribute to volunteer to serve in these facilities.
This experiment was discussed with leaders of the Ministry of Social Development and how to rehabilitate these centers, especially as the Bahraini experiment began in one center and then the number has increased to up to about 10 centers spread over various regions, Al-Sabeeh said.
Minister Al-Sabeeh is scheduled to conclude her visit to Bahrain later today after attending an international conference on businesswomen.
