The Brazilian stopper believes that his side should have secured a better result in the first leg, but he is not writing off the team's chances of success against the Blues.Benfica captain Luisao is of the opinion that Chelsea were not worthy of the 1-0 victory in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie at the Estadio da Luz.A solitary goal from Salomon Kalou late in the game proved the difference between the two clubs in the first leg in a match in which neither side could stamp their authority on proceedings. In the post-match press conference, Jorge Jesus stated that Benfica "did not deserve to lose", and Luisao shares the same sentiments as his coach."The game in Lisbon left a sour taste in the mouth because Chelsea did not deserve to win and it proved that the team who plays better does not always win," he told Goal.com."I do not know if the Chelsea coach reserved players in the first leg, but the truth is that we were the better team and 1-0 was a misleading result after what we saw on the field of play."Benfica travel to London with only one centre-back available following injuries to Ezequiel Garay, Jardel and Miguel Vitor, but despite that setback and the one-goal deficit from the first leg, Luisao remains upbeat about his side's chances of going through."Even though Chelsea have a slight advantage because of the goal, I insist that the tie is still wide open and that we can progress to the semi-finals of the Champions League," the Brazilian defender added."The key will be taking the lead. If we go 1-0 up, I am sure the nerves will set in at Stamford Bridge and that would be positive for us."In London we need to be strong at the back, to control the ball and have more luck in attack than we did at home. I know it is difficult but it is possible and we will go there with that faith."The Brazil international then reminded how Benfica were able to finish at the summit of their Champions League group while holding Manchester United to a draw on two occasions."We were able to do things well against United in the group phase of the Champions League and we have to repeat it against the Blues - and I think United are a better team," Luisao noted."That is my hope for our comeback. Benfica are proud and we know how to overcome the worst moments."Now, in London, this game is a real final and we are going to approach it as such, even with the atmosphere against us."Benfica head into Wednesday's clash on the back of a 2-1 victory against Sporting de Braga, a result which has seen the Lisbon-based club move up to second in the Portuguese Liga standings, just one point adrift of leaders Porto."The win against Braga last weekend has given us morale for the game in London," Luisao noted."We demonstrated that we can react and we are still fighting for everything."I finished the game with some physical problems, but I hope to have recovered for Wednesday."I do not want to miss this match for anything in the world."
