After spending eight days in a training camp in Qatar and playing three friendly games, Egypt coach Bob Bradley gave his first evaluation of the team after a five-month spell in charge. “The Egyptian players are very talented and have a big self confidence. However the team has a scoring problem as the players waste many easy chances in front of goal,” the American tactician was quoted as saying by Qatari newspaper Al-Shorouk. The Pharaohs thrashed Kenya’s U-23 team 5-0, claimed a narrow 1-0 win over Niger before wrapping up the camp with a goalless draw against DR Congo. The seven-time African champions completely dominated the last game but squandered a handful of goal-scoring opportunities. “My job is to put the strategy to create opportunities and it is up for the players to score. It is something we will have to work on in the future,” he added. Bradley had to do without key players as Ahly and Zamalek’s were dropped from the training camp due to their African Champions League commitments while in-form striker Mohamed Zidan has been left out to focus on his new adventure with Germany’s Mainz.
