Adelaide - AFP

Australian triple Olympic gold medallist Libby Trickett said Wednesday it felt surreal attempting to qualify for another Games -- more than two years after she quit. Trickett, 27, called time on her swimming career in August 2009, saying she had fallen out of love with the sport, but she rekindled the affair a year later and it has culminated in the national Olympics trials this week. "It's very surreal," she told reporters. "It's feeling kind of bizarre to be honest, because I never thought I was going to be here again -- and all of a sudden I am." The 100m freestyle and 100m butterfly exponent said she felt successful just being in Adelaide. "It's so rewarding, the journey that I have been on -- and the fact I'm as lean as I was in 2008. I'm stronger than I was in 2008," she said. "I think I have the potential to be as fast as I was." While London is the ultimate goal, Trickett is uncertain of her future beyond this year. "I could see myself still swimming because I'm enjoying the sport and have a real love of what I'm doing this year," she said. "But at the same time, I have this biological clock that's ticking. I really would like to start a family as well."
