John Aldridge insists he was wary of playing Harry Redknapp's Tottenham at Wembley in May but the former Reds striker is confident about Liverpool's chances when they face Chelsea in the FA Cup final. Writing in his Liverpool Echo column, Aldo points to the Reds' recent fine form against Chelsea which has seen them win their last four encounters against the London side in all competitions. Current manager Kenny Dalglish presided over the last three of those victories which all came at Stamford Bridge. The opposite applies to Liverpool's record against Spurs. In the last four games the Reds netted once and took a solitary point from a possible 12. "I'm not just saying this, but before the game I felt Tottenham would pose a bigger threat than Chelsea, and I would rather take on Roberto Di Matteo's side than Harry Redknapp's," said Aldridge. "Tottenham have had the sign over us in recent meetings, whereas we seem to get the better of Chelsea when we meet. "It's hard to measure, but it definitely plays a part. We saw that with Everton on Saturday. I think Liverpool FC can go into the FA Cup final very confident. "On a level playing field, you have to fancy Liverpool's chances."
