Islamabad - KUNA

A suicidal attack through an explosives-packed car in central capital city Kabul of Afghanistan killed at least 10 people and wounded 22 others on Saturday, said officials. The Kabul police spokesman, Hashmatullah Stanickzai said: "The nature of the blast is not yet cleared, but initial reports indicate it was a suicide attack." The Interior Ministry spokesman, Siddique Siddiqui said that two security personnel were among the dead and at least 22 people were injured in the attack. He said that the exploded car was being tracked by the security forces, but blew up when arrived near a police checkpoint in the area. The incident took place close to the area where the consultative Loya Jirga on a security pact with the United States is due to take place this week to decide on the future of US troops in the country after NATO coalition pulls out from Afghanistan in 2014. Earlier on Saturday, the President of Afghanistan, Hamid Karzai had called on the Taliban and their allies to join the assembly, known as a "Loya Jirga". The security pact included the demand of the US to give its troops immunity from Afghan law but the Afghan President said that only Loya Jirga had the authority to decide the contentious issues. After approval of the agreement by Loya Jirga and parliament, around 5000 to 10000 US troops would stay in Afghanistan to help fight militants and train the national army
