Kabul - XINHUA

  Police captured five armed Taliban militants on Monday during operations against Taliban outfit in Kunduz province 250 km north of Kabul, said Sayed Sarwar Hussaini, a police spokesman in the province. "Personnel of national police raided a Taliban hideout in Dasht- e-Archi district early today morning and detained five rebels," Hussaini said at a press conference here. A number of arms and ammunitions including suicide vests and explosive material were also discovered during the operations which lasted for a while, he added. However, he did not say if there were any casualties on police. Taliban militants who launched their spring offensive on April 28 are yet to make comment.
