A total of seven Taliban insurgents have been killed as aircrafts pounded Taliban hideouts in Nawa district of the restive Helmand province on Sunday, said a statement of 215 Miwand Corps released here on Monday.
According to the statement, a mine manufacturing facility of the Taliban was also destroyed in the raid.
Taliban militants haven't commented on the report.
The poppy growing Helmand province with Lashkar Gah as its capital 555 km south of Kabul has been the scene of bloody fighting between government forces and Taliban fighters over the past few years.
