Eight persons have been killed and twenty two others wounded in a suicide attack in restive Helmand province in Afghanistan.
Omar Zwak, spokesman for the governor of Helmand province said that the suicide attacker had his vehicle laden with explosives and detonated it near police in Bolan area of the provincial capital Lashkargah yesterday.
He said two policemen and six civilians were killed in the explosion and twenty two people including policemen and civilians wounded, according to the Afghan (Khaama Press).
The sound of the explosion was such huge that was heard in very far areas in the city of Lashkargah.
Dead bodies and human flash was seen at the site of the attack with the blood on the ground everywhere.
Those wounded were yelling for help. Most of the wounded were transported to the Bost Hospital in Lashkargah.
No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack but most of the attacks targeting security forces have been claimed by Taliban insurgents in the past.
This was the 2nd suicide attack in Helmand province in about a week.
On 3rd march a suicide attacker who also had his vehicle full of explosives carried out an attack at a police center in Sangin District kill at least seven people and wounded nine others including soldiers and civilians.
