At least 24 anti-government armed militants were killed while 24 others were wounded in the latest counter-terrorism operations conducted by the Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF), Khaama Press quoted the Afghan Ministry of Defense (MoD) as saying.
The operations were conducted in various provinces of the country to clear the areas where the anti-government armed militants are active.
A statement by the Afghan MoD said at least 10 militants were killed and 5 others were wounded in Achin district of Nangarhar province.
The statement further added that 9 militants were killed and 6 others were wounded during an operation in Khanshin district of Helmand.
The Afghan security forces also confiscated various types of weapons, ammunition and explosives during the same operations.
An Afghan National Army (ANA) soldier also lost his life during the clearance operations, MoD added.
