A Palestinian young man was shot dead early on Monday by Israeli soldiers at his house at Qalandia refugee camp north of Jerusalem, a Palestinian official said.
Jamal Lafi, an official in the refugee camp's popular committee, told Xinhua that Mohamed Abu Latifa, 20-year-old, was killed by an Israeli soldier's gunfire after storming his house in the refugee camp.
"An Israeli army force stormed Mohamed's house and when he tried to run away, one of the soldiers opened fire and hit him in his legs and arrested him," Lafi said, adding that "the soldiers then shot him after he was severely beaten."
Lafi denied that the Israeli claim that Mohamed jumped from the roof of his house to the ground and was killed, adding that Mohamed's body is at Ramallah government hospital of the Palestinian (National) Authority.
Earlier, Israel Public Radio reported that Mohamed was wanted to the Israeli security and he died after he jumped from the roof of his house to the ground when an Israeli army force came to the house to arrest him.
The radio added that an Israeli border police force was carrying out an activity of detaining wanted Palestinians involved in terrorist actions in Jerusalem.
It is the third Palestinian that is killed by the Israeli army in the West Bank within the last few days, according to Palestinian medical officials.
