Two Palestinians have been killed and around 80 others injured by Israeli fire during confrontations in the West Bank city of Ramallah, Palestinian medical sources said.
Health Ministry official in Ramallah Tarif Ashour told Xinhua that a 25-year-old man was killed instantly after Israeli soldiers shot him in the head, while another young man died of his wounds.
Fierce clashes erupted Thursday night between Israeli soldiers and Palestinian protesters who gathered near Qalandiya checkpoint in the West Bank city of Ramallah. Large demonstrations protesting the Israeli offensive in the Gaza Strip were organized in Ramallah.
At least 80 Palestinians have been injured during the clashes, Ashour said. The death toll in Gaza mounted to 797, while more than 5,000 Palestinians have been injured since the eruption of violence between Israel and Palestinian militant groups on July 8.
Israel has lost four civilians and 28 soldiers so far. Regional and international efforts to end the ongoing fighting between Israel and Palestinian factions in Gaza have been going on unabated. All endeavors have not yielded any results so far.
