In response to directives from His Royal
Manama - Arab World

In response to directives from His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa to accommodate people’s needs in a number of areas in the Kingdom, the Works Affairs Undersecretary of the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, Ahmed Al Khayyat, toured Um Al-Hassam Harbour.
Al Khayyat explained that the Prime Minister’s directives indicate His Royal Highness’s concern towards meeting the citizens’ needs in all Governorates in Bahrain.
The Ministry is to revamp the harbour by increasing its capacity, improving the available services and facilities such boats stalls and concrete stairs, revamping the road leading to the facility and looking into the possibility of providing a glide for the boats and carrying out water and electricity connections.
Al Khayyat stressed the importance of selecting experienced contractors to handle the construction operations. 
Minister Essam Khalaf had earlier visited the harbour
