The UAE and Malaysia have signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), regarding political consultation and the establishment of a joint co-operation committee.

Shaikh Abdulla bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, who is currently visiting Malaysia, and Datuk Seri Anifah Aman, Malaysian Foreign Minister, signed the two MoUs during a meeting today, UAE News Agency (WAM) reported.

Shaikh Abdulla and Aman discussed co-operation between their countries and ways to enhance their ties for the benefit of their people. They also exchanged their opinions on the latest regional developments and reviewed several regional and international issues of mutual concern.

Shaikh Abdulla praised the relations between the UAE and Malaysia while stressing his desire to strengthen them in all areas.

Aman welcomed the visit of Shaikh Abdullah while adding that the ties between the two countries reflect their distinguished strategic relations. He also commended the UAE's pioneering stature and the regional and international respect it has gained.
