Naval Forces rescue 23 tourists in Hurghada
Cairo - Arab Today

The Naval Forces have rescued 23 tourists from a fire that erupted on a tourist boat in Hurghada and a shipping boat from sinking off Giftun Island on Sunday.

The Naval Forces in the Red Sea maritime base received S.O.S. signals on fire breaking out in a tourist boat northeastern Hurghada port, the Spokesman for the Armed Forces said. Twenty-three tourists of various nationalities and the boat's eight-member crew were rescued and the fire was controlled, he said in a statement.

Medical care was provided to the tourists immediately, while one woman who suffered suffocation was transported to Hurghada General Hospital, he added.

Meantime, maritime units securing coasts rescued a fishing boat from sinking off Giftun Island after its engine broke down with four Egyptian crew members on board
