Cairo - Ria Novosti

Hospitals in the Libyan capital of Tripoli are experiencing a critical lack of medical supplies, the al-Ahram website said on Thursday. Hospitals are in dire need of antibiotics, bandages and anesthetics. There is also a sharp deficit of fuel, food and drinking water, the website said. "Tripoli doctors are performing miracles, going to work under gunfire, without even the chance to sleep," the Red Crescent organization told RIA Novosti. Rebels seized control of much of Tripoli this week, but Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi's whereabouts remain unknown. According to some reports, Nicaragua might give him asylum. The National Transitional Council on Wednesday offered an amnesty, as well as a $1.3-million reward for anyone who captures or kills Gaddafi.
