Grand Sheikh of Al Azhar meets president Abbas

Grand sheikh of Al Azhar Dr. Sheikh Ahmed Al-Tayyeb conferred here on Tuesday with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and his accompanying delegation now visiting Egypt. They reviewed the latest developments of the Palestinian cause and arab efforts made to drump up support for Palestine state ''s bid to have full UN membership and efforts made to achieve inter-Palestinian reconciliation and the role Al Azhar can play for support of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people foremost among which the establishment of their independent state. Abbas flew into the Egyptian Capital earlier last night for a three-day visit to Egypt.
