The family members of murdered British diplomat Rebecca Dykes issued a statement on Tuesday describing their deceased, "Becky", a genuine, generous, and loving person.
"Anyone who knew her would agree that she was intelligent, ambitious, and dedicated to her work."
The body of Rebecca Dykes, who worked at the British Embassy in the city of Beirut, was found by a motorway on Saturday.
The suspect, a 35-year-old man, who had served several prison sentences, has been arrested.
"Becky had a love of travelling, and was passionate about helping people. She always wanted to make the world a better place, her humanitarian work in Beirut was testament to that. For Becky to have her life cruelly taken away in these circumstances is devastating to our family. Becky is simply irreplaceable and we will never fully recover from this loss. We are grateful that the investigation is moving at pace, and thank the relevant authorities for acting quickly and thoroughly," her family's statement said.
"We also thank the press for the restraint that has been shown so far in reporting this matter and ask for continued respect for our privacy as we grieve as a family. We will not be making any further comment until it is appropriate to do so," the statement added
