Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Media Affairs, Dr Musadik Malik on Friday said continuity in democratic system was imperative to achieving progress.
This was first time happened in the history of the country that one democratically elected government after completing its constitutional tenure, transferred the power to other government, he said while talking to a news channel.
Admitting the weaknesses in politicians, he said the feebleness would be removed with the passage of time and continuity in democratic system.
Expressing dismay over the system, he said no elected prime minister of Pakistan could complete his constitutional tenure while serving the government.
