Faisalabad - Arab Today

Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan said on Sunday that Canal Expressway would prove to be CPEC of Faisalabad which would not only expedite the process of development in the area but also facilitate masses in a big way.
He was addressing a public gathering after laying foundation stone for the construction of Expressway along side Canal Road near Kashmir Bridge here.
He said the Canal Expressway project would be completed with an estimated cost of Rs 350 million which would help in enhancing business activities in the metropolis by linking inner side of Faisalabad city with motorway with a shortest traveling distance.
He said Canal Expressway would be linked with Sammundri Road and two underpasses would be constructed on it near Novelty Bridge and Kashmir Bridge.
He said funds had also been released for the construction of underpasses whereas work on the project would commence from next month.
The law minister said the Punjab government not only constructed roads and underpasses in Faisalabad but also established a most modern Children Hospital and new campus of Government College University Faisalabad besides completing first phase of water supply project in the city.
A sum of Rs 5 billion was spent on the first phase of water supply project whereas physical work on its second phase had also been initiated and this phase would be completed with an estimated
cost of Rs 15 billion, he said and added that completion of the project would resolve water supply problems in Faisalabad for next 40 years.
Rana Sanaullah also criticized PTI and other rival parties and said PTI Chief Imran Khan wanted anarchy in the country. Former prime minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had accepted court’s decision
but some elements were still hatching conspiracies against him for their nefarious designs through negative propaganda, he added.
He said that PML-N believed in masses’ services and that’s why it completed a number of development projects to provide basic amenities to masses at their doorsteps.
He said some elements strongly criticized metro service of the Punjab government but now they were also undertaking metro project in Peshawar.
Rana Sana said when PML-N came into power, the country was plunged into darkness due to long duration of load shedding whereas terrorism had hindered the pace of national development. But, now
90 percent of terrorism and load shedding had been eliminated while the country was dragged out of crises and put on the road to progress and prosperity.
He also criticized politics of protests and said sit-ins and lockdowns caused delay of one year in CPEC project besides creating severe hindrances in national development.
Provincial Minister Khalil Tahir Sindhu, MNA Mian Abdul Mannan, MPAs Sheikh Ejaz Ahmad, Faqeer Hussain Dogar, Deputy Commissioner Salman Ghani, Mayor Faisalabad Muhammad Razzaq Malik and others were also present on the occasion.
