HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud met here Sunday morning with Sudanese Government’s negotiating delegation for Darfur peace talks in Doha under the chairmanship of Dr. Amin Hassan Omar, head of the delegation. During the meeting, the head of the government delegation expressed thanks and appreciation to the State of Qatar for its efforts and patience in order to create the appropriate atmosphere for the success of the peace process. On behalf of the Sudanese President and government, Dr. Amin Hassan Omar asked Al Mahmoud to convey their greetings and the delegation’s greetings as well to HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani for his commitment to the Darfur Peace process and his continued support for it. Talks during the meeting also dealt with the arrangements that should be done after the signing of a peace agreement between the Sudanese government and the Liberation and Justice Movement (LJM), including the formation of technical and administrative committees to implement the agreement. At the end of the meeting, HE Al Mahmoud expressed his appreciation for the government delegation’s role at the Doha Forum and for the support and cooperation with the mediation. The meeting was attended by a number of officials at the foreign ministry.
