The Tunisian Interior Ministry confirmed on Wednesday the capture of Qais Ben Ali, nephew of ousted President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali. Qais was reportedly on the run for almost a year. Families from the village of Alordanin whose children were killed while intercepting cars that were trying to smuggle Qais were reportedly in contact with him. He is also required in financial corruption cases. An interior ministry spokesperson said to the official news agency (TNA): “Qais was arrested in Sousse (120km east of Tunis), as he was involved in many cases before the court.”
