The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has raised the flag over Nabaa al Feyha city near Damascus on Sunday after a reconciliation deal was put in place by the town's elders to evacuate the gunmen.
The deal marks the first time in 4 years that this site has been under government control.
The armed militants agreed to leave the city after Syrian security forces during the past two days took control over several neighboring cities. At the beginning, the jihadist rebels refused to end the violence plaguing the city and to lay their weapons but they had to after the Syrian army advanced towards the city.
In accordance with the ceasefire deal, the Syrian Arab Army was allowed to raise the flag over and build checkpoints around the town.
