Al-Khalil – Arabstoday

Chief Director of Abu Jihad for the Prisoners Affairs at the University of Jerusalem, Fahed Abu Al-Haj, revealed on Monday that the Israeli prisons administration has been planning to kill the Secretary General of the Popular Front, Ahmed Sadat, who is being held in solitary confinement since his arrest in 2006, using several means, most recently by putting snakes in his cell. Al-Haj said in a press statement, which "Arabs today," received a copy of, that the Israeli prisons Administration put snakes inside Sadat’s cell, as well as putting him in solitary confinement and depriving him from basic human rights. He said that the prison service administration ordered to put a snake in Sadat’s cell, and then killed it when Sadat discovered it, however Sadat found another snake in his cell next day. On the other hand, Al-hajj said that the strike launched by the prisoners wasn’t an arbitrary and that it came after long and good preparation. According to the researcher Abul-Hajj sources, the prisoners  are currently  planning to escalate the strike through increasing the number of prisoners engaged in the strike and announcing their attempt to stop drinking water, similar to the Irish strike, until they achieve their demands or strike to death.
