Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs Mohammad Tayseer Bani Yaseen signed an agreement on Wednesday to establish a regional center for the World Health Organization (WHO) to handle health emergencies and work to eradicate polio in Jordan.
The agreement, which was signed by WHO regional director for the Eastern Mediterranean Alaa Alwan, aims to establish a center to provide technical and logistical support to the countries of the Eastern Mediterranean region in emergency preparedness and response, in order to ensure effective management of the operations of the emergency programs, including the eradication of polio.
