The UAE Humanitarian Field Hospital has concluded its humanitarian mission in Mogadishu after providing free curative and preventative services to children and elderly people for six months. The field hospital was launched as part of “Giving campaign for the treatment of 1 million children and elderly people” under the patronage of Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the UAE General Women’s Union and of the Family Development Foundation and Chairwoman of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood. The Emirati medical staff supervised humanitarian services to refugees in camps of the African continent. On his part, Chief Executive of the Zayed Charity Initiative and Executive Director of Emirates World Humanitarian Hospital, Dr. Adel Al Shamri stressed the important and vital role of the UAE medical team for emergency response, who demonstrated a model for volunteer work over six months contributing to the alleviation of the suffering of those affected by the drought that hit the Horn of Africa.
