The Health and Population Ministry has asserted anew the state will endure the rising fees in dialysis treatment cost with EGP 60 pounds.
The state has increased the cost of dialysis from EGP 140 pounds to EGP 200 pounds, the ministry said in a statement on Tuesday, adding patients will endure no additional money in the treatment process.
The ministry said it will officially inform dialysis centers of the fees hike, adding the state will shoulder about 500 to 600 million pounds annually.
About 30.5 percent of patients are treated with dialysis at private centers nationwide, said head of the central division of preventive medicine Magda el Tantawi.
Some 69.5 percent of sick people are treated at the hospitals of the ministry, health insurance and medical centers as well as educational hospitals, the army and police, added Tantawi.
