A Slovenian patient, suspected to have been infected with Ebola, was cleared of the illness, and will soon be discharged from hospital on Saturday.
Following a preliminary test on the patient on Thursday which was negative, the renewed testing on the suspect again proved negative, the Ljubljana University Medical Centre (UKC) said.
The patient, who returned recently from an Ebola-affected part of Africa, was admitted to the hospital Wednesday evening due to severe fever.
The examination process of Ebola suspicion is apparently an inspection of Slovenia's readiness to cope with Ebola virus disease, formerly known as Ebola hemorrhagic fever, and believed to be one of the most virulent illness in the world.
Slovenia, with state-of-the art medical equipment, has been on alert to treat Ebola patients since the World Health Organisation appealed to the world to curb the spread of the epidemic rampant in West Africa in 2014.
The UKC, one of the largest hospitals in central Europe will offer the best possible care to those believed to be infected by the Ebola virus, according to UKC medical chief Franc Strle.
