London - Arabstoday

Many people are divided when it comes to the topic of private hospitals. However, despite this debate it seems that more and more people are prepared to pay for private treatment. The amount of independent, private hospitals in London is on the rise, and healthcare seekers are finding the care provided by private hospitals to be worth the money. So what sets apart a private hospital from an NHS hospital? The biggest factor for people choosing a private hospital is the caring environment that is provided to private patients. Private hospitals pride themselves on the attention and time they have for each patient. The money a patient pays ensures that they will be cared for like a person and not another statistic. In addition, the much moaned about waiting room issue that is to the NHS is non-existent in most private hospitals in London. Quick and immediate service is another crucial factor that differentiates private hospitals. Rather than being stuck in whatever time slot is available, the patient chooses when their appointment will be. And it’s easy to understand why a patient in need of major surgery would want immediate treatment than have to wait up to 42 weeks with an NHS hospital. Another significant highlight to private hospitals is the cleanliness. Recent media coverage has broadcasted news of NHS slipping sanitation standards. Private hospitals in London guarantee spotlessly clean rooms. Whilst sky TV and wine with meals seem like an unnecessary luxury, any perks to a prolonged hospital stay are greatly appreciated by most patients. Private Hospital aim to excel normal hospital standards, but the main issue barring those in of healthcare is price. Of not everyone is lucky enough to afford a private. However, private hospital treatment may not be as expensive as you think. The average price for a Hip Replacement in a hospital costs between £7500 and £13450, having the same procedure at a private hospital could be nearly the same price. Many cannot put a price on health. In addition, you have the added peace in the knowledge that you will be treated to the highest standard. This is principally important when it comes to mental health. The private sector currently delivers over 20% (and rising) of all treatment dealing with mental health. It appears that the added bonuses and personal approach provided by private hospitals is crucial when treating mental health issues. It’s no wonder over 80% of brain injuries are treated in private hospitals! There are several reasons why patients would go for private treatment. Whilst a private hospital might seem excessive, care, comfort and security are a priority when you’re feeling unwell!
