As per the health statistical bulletin issued by the National Center for Statistics and Information, about 102,965 minor to major surgeries have been performed at the hospitals and health centers in the Sultanate. The number of major surgeries stood at 46,364 compared to 56,601 minor surgeries. The biggest number of surgical operations in 2015 has been performed by Khoulah Hospital – 7,109 major surgeries or 15.3% of the total number of major surgeries performed in the Sultanate. The number of minor surgeries performed by the health centers stood at 12,523 or 22.1% of the minor surgeries performed in the Sultanate. As per the bulletin, the number of outpatient visits by Omanis at the Ministry of Health institutions stood at 14,593,280 ; an average of 6.2 per individual. The number of outpatients visits by expatriates stood at 783,223 ; an average of 0.4 visit per person in 2015
