Abu Dhabi - Arabstoday

A study released by  Statistics Centre Abu Dhabi (Scad) as part of its 'Demographic Studies’ series shows that February-March is the time that most babies born in the emirate are likely to have been conceived. According to the study, which looked at birth patterns in Abu Dhabi for the year 2010, the number of births in October was the highest, accounting for 9.3 per cent of all births during that year. Which means most of the babies are conceived in the first quarter of the year? The Scad report also reveal that there were 29,528 ‘live’ births in Abu Dhabi in 2010, compared with 23,974 in 2001, a rise of 23.2 per cent. In 2010, Emirati births made up 46.2 per cent of the total in the emirate. For the Abu Dhabi region, Abu Dhabi accounted for the largest percentage (53.4 per cent) of total citizen births, followed by Al Ain Region at 43.1 per cent, and Al Gharbia region at 3.5 per cent. Click here to read docs warn against baby yoga that shocks millions In 2001, the sex ratio at birth for the whole emirate was 103.6 (i.e. 103.6 males per 100 females). Broken down by nationality, sex ratio in 2001 was 104.2 for citizens and 103.1 for non-citizens. Comparing the general fertility rate (GFR) in 2010 by nationality, it can be seen that female citizens have a higher GFR than non-citizen females across the Emirate and in each of its regions: 118.4 babies were born per 1000 females citizens within the child-bearing age (15-49) compared with only 63.2 births per 1,000 non-citizen females within the child-bearing age. Guess Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has silenced all those interested in her weight issue and instead upped the bar for new moms in the glamour world. Ash does not like becoming a 'mannequin'. "I have a very real approach to my life," the actress was quoted as saying by Aishwarya-spice.com. She is one woman who loves to enjoy each phase of her life. And why not, when she so effortlessly sets trends! She's been stepping out more frequently now and has even signed a whopping brand endorsement deal. New moms of Bollywood, who've been working out those flabs to return to the glamour world, have been left far behind. Comments by her followers and fans on social networking sites speak out loud. Unlike some Bollywood mothers, she need not do item numbers to survive or gain attention, wrote some. Indeed, she's a brand unto herself and can set trends with her beliefs. And so when she says, "I like to be human and not lose myself in becoming a mannequin, which people in showbiz are accused of..." we cannot but agree.
