The Ministry of Health and Prevention has launched an initiative on Innovation and Entrepreneurship to enhance the culture of creativity among the employees in line with the UAE Vision 2021, including its National Agenda, and as part of the National Strategy for Innovation, "The initiative has been developed in alignment with best international practices in this field following in-depth research studies with the ultimate objective of turning innovation into a way of life among individuals and part and parcel of the work environment," said Dr. Yousif Mohamed Al Sirkal, Assistant Undersecretary for the Ministry's Hospitals Sector.
The initiative serves as a launching pad for churning out a generation specialising in different medical, technical and administrative disciplines in keeping with the National Strategy for Innovation, he added.
The strategy is set to stimulate innovation in seven sectors where innovation is key to excellence: renewable energy, transport, education, health, technology, water and space. Its first phase includes 30 national initiatives to be completed within three years. These include new legislation, innovation incubators, investment in specialised skills, private sector incentives, international research partnerships and an innovation drive within government.
