Walkathon evokes tremendous response as more than 1,500 take part in Dubai. More than 1,500 people and 40 organisations participated in the World Down's Syndrome Day Walkathon at Dubai Mall yesterday evening. The walk was inaugurated by Shaikh Majid Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Culture, "The response is much higher than we expected. We are glad that people are getting more aware and expressing their support towards individuals with Down's Syndrome, "Sonia Al Hashemi, chairperson of the UAE Down Syndrome Association, told Gulf News.
