French president Francois Hollande and visiting Guinean president Alpha Conde stressed the need to avoid any relaxation before the the eradication of the virus Ebola, said a press release published Wednesday by Hollande's office the Elysee.
France has mobilized more than 158 million euros (169 million U.S. dollars) in the fight against the virus Ebola, including the 110 million euros in Guinea, added the press release.
"The number of victims of the epidemic decreases in Guinea," said the press release, adding that "the goal today is to completely eradicate the disease."
The French president expressed his support for the Guinean government's initiatives for a dialogue with the opposition on the presidential elections to be held in October, and called on all parties to renounce violence.
Regarding the regional situation, the two leaders expressed their supports for the inter-Malian peace agreement signed in Algiers, and called on the concerning parties to sign it.
