The Bahrain Olympic Committee today joined other parts of the globe to celebrate the World Healthy Day by organizing a number of health check-ups in cooperation with the Ministry of Health.
Staff members of the BOC had the opportunity to examine their present health status in several areas at the committee’s dedicated National Sports Medicine Centre, located in Isa Town, by a highly-qualified team of doctors.
Check-ups covered heart rate, glucose, blood pressure and other areas. The theme for this year’s activity was to ‘keep a healthy heart’.
The World Health Day, which is originally celebrated on 7 April every year to mark the anniversary of the founding of World Health Organisation (WHO), provides the organisation with a unique opportunity to mobilize action around a specific health topic of concern to people all over the world.
It’s worth noting that the theme of 2017 World Health Day campaign is ‘depression’ – which affects people of all ages – from all walks of life, in all countries.
