Foreign Minister Abu Bakr al-Qirbi met here on Saturday with Head of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to Yemen.During the meeting, they discussed areas of joint cooperation between Yemen and the Organization, as well as the ongoing preparation for convening the regional conference on the asylum and migration from the horn of Africa to Yemen scheduled to be held in Sana’a.In the meeting, al-Qirbi praised the IOM’s activity in the humanitarian field in Yemen, affirming that the humanitarian situation in Yemen still represents a big challenge despite of the progress made in the political process and requires the interest and support of the international community and donors.For her part, the IOM’s official expressed her thanks to the Yemeni government for its continued cooperation with the organization, confirming the IOM’s commitment to continue to support the government’s efforts in addressing the issues of migration from the horn of Africa to Yemen so as to alleviate the burdens of Yemen in this aspect.
