For more than 90 minutes, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, watched La Perle – the region’s first permanent live performance at a 1,300-seat, state-of-the-art aqua theatre in Al Habtoor City.

H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Sheikha Al Jalila bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, a group of ministers, directors and heads of government departments along with more than 1,000 spectators also watched the performance.

The interactive theatre experience immerses the audience in the live show that takes inspiration from Dubai’s past, present and future.

Brought to Dubai by the Al Habtoor Group, La Perle is a live masterpiece, produced by legendary Creative Director Franco Dragone, famed for theatrical spectacles. It is expected to raise the bar for entertainment in the region.

La Perle is a breath-taking fusion of immersive artistic performances, imagery and technology. Combining tradition and innovation, La Perle is influenced by Dubai’s rich culture and history, vibrant present and aspirational future, encapsulating the essence of Dubai. It is brought to life by awe-inspiring stunts and special effects that will leave viewers speechless.

Mohammed K. Al Habtoor, Vice Chairman and CEO of Al Habtoor Group, said, "Our group has launched this live performance with the Brussels-based Dragon Co. to confirm the UAE's entrenched position at world's cultural and tourism landscape. The country has a rich culture and history as well as a good reputation that qualifies it to become a favourite destination for tourists, businessmen, artists, innovators and others.

''La Perle is the region’s first resident show, featuring a cast of 65 artistes from 23 countries, each bringing their own unique set of skills to the performance, ranging from acting, acrobats, aquatic and aerial stunts, and demonstrates a blend of cultural and human sense that binds all nations with love, harmony and peace,'' he added.

At the end of the performance, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid welcomed the organisation of cultural, artistic and entertainment performances and festivals in the UAE so as to remain a glorious symbol of arts and culture, an icon for joy-making, a melting pot for innovators and a destination of choice for holidaymakers, businessmen, thought leaders and lovers of beauty and peace.

''The UAE is making happiness and promoting values of tolerance and co-existence by hosting these events and forums, which attract global segments of diverse cultures. We are proud of our national achievements and our humanitarian and charitable generosity. We are also proud of our rich culture and heritage while interacting with, and opening up to other world cultures to take the path towards glory, love and peace,'' His Highness Sheikh Mohammed said in conclusion.
