Turkish President Abdullah Gul was welcomed with excitement during his visit in the eastern city of Mus on Thursday. This is the first time a president pays a visit in the city after 29 years. Former President Kenan Evren had visited Mus on November 3, 1984. Regarding solution process about Kurdish issue, Gul expressed belief that the atmosphere for solution would be strengthened, and people would embrace each other more. We are living good things in Turkey all together. We see that the brotherhood in Turkey got stronger, and that there was a great desire for peace and tranquility, said Gul who visited the Governorate. President Gul was welcomed by an excited crowd carrying Turkish flags as well as red and white carnations. Recently, a commission of wise people --comprised of prominent scholars, journalists, businesspeople and performing artists-- was formed in an effort to solve Kurdish issue. The commission is expected to increase public support to the solution process. PKK terrorist organization's jailed leader Abdullah Ocalan has recently called the armed elements of the organization to withdraw from Turkey.
