Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr. Abdulhussain bin Ali Mirza visited the Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Solar Park, the largest single-site solar park in the world, on the sidelines of his participation at the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2018.
The minister was received by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Saeed bin Mohammed Al-Tayer, UAE Energy Ministry Undersecretary Dr. Matar Hamed Al-Nayadi and other senior officials, who gave a detailed presentation of the Abu Dhabi Government 2030 Energy Strategy and the 2050 long-term strategy which aims at promoting energy diversification and green energy.
The minister was also updated about water solar-powered desalination projects with an output of 12,000 gallons per day round the clock.
Dr. Mirza outlined Bahrain’s planned projects in the field of sustainability spearheaded by the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) and the Energy Sustainability Unit.
