Former Israeli president Shimon Peres was admitted to Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer on Thursday after what his personal doctor described as a small heart attack, the Jerusalem Post reported on Thursday.

The 92-year-old Peres was admitted to the hospital after suffering from chest pains earlier in the morning.

According to a Peres spokesperson, the former president underwent an angioplasty in which a narrowed coronary artery was found. Peres was reportedly in good condition and fully conscious after the procedure.
