His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah, yesterday announced that the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority "Shurooq" is set to develop the Al Hisn Island, a leisure and tourist attraction located in Diba Al Hisn.
Overlooking the Indian Ocean, the project is located on a reclaimed island that was built as a residential area, facing the Flag Square in Dibba Al Hisn, which was developed by Shurooq. The new development will feature a water canal, a host of restaurants and cafes, in addition to a movie theatre, children playgrounds and other amenities.
The new project, which is now in the planning and design phase, will feature unique Islamic Andalusian designs inspired by Al Hamra palace. The Al Hisn Island will raise the level of attractions and services offered in Dibba Al Hisn.
Further details about this new development will be announced during a press conference to be hosted by Shurooq in the near future.
