Supreme Council for Youth and Sports deputy general secretary and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) general secretary Abdulrahman Askar congratulated the kingdom of Bahrain leadership on Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa winning the ANOC Merit Award in Doha today.
Askar also congratulated Bahraini athlete Ruth Jebet on being honored for her gold medal at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games in Brazil.
This statement was announced during his attendance at the 21st ANOC General Assembly in Doha.
Askar said the sharp vision of Shaikh Nasser and his ability to run the youth sports movements in the kingdom of Bahrain has significantly contributed to the development of Bahrain in both sectors, taking them to higher levels.
He congratulated the Bahrain Olympic Committee on winning the Breakthrough Award, noting that this decision was a result of the hard work of the Bahrain Olympic Committee board, led by Shaikh Nasser and committee vice-president Shaikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
The BOC general secretary also congratulated all the honourees commending their efforts in development of Olympic work in their respective countries and wishing them constant successes.
